Chicago Rapper Glizzy Glow Drops Debut Mixtape 'Trench Baddie' on Geffen Records

South Side Chicago rapper Glizzy Glow released her debut mixtape, Trench Baddie, on August 7, 2026, via Geffen Records. The 17-track project brings together singles she has been releasing throughout what the label describes as her breakout year, including "Poundcake," "The Breakup Song" featuring BunnaB, and the "Cutwater Remix" featuring YKNIECE.

The full feature list includes Queen Key, Mudbaby Ru, BunnaB, YKNIECE, Lil M.U., Hxllywood, and FCW Big Key.

"When Living In The Trenches It Don't Feel Trencherous, Its Home To Us, So This Mixtape Is The Everyday Life Of A Trench Baddie," Glizzy Glow said in the release.

Glizzy Glow, 29, is from West Englewood on Chicago's South Side. According to the release, she first picked up attention in Chicago in 2019 after a freestyle over Soulja Boy's "Shootout" went viral. Before signing with Geffen, she operated as a self-managed artist, booking her own shows and self-releasing music while also working as a salon owner and hair model. Her lead single "CUTWATER" has generated more than 15 million streams across platforms and 2.9 million YouTube views, according to the release, and led to a YKNIECE remix and the CUTWATER Tour.

For independent artists, Glizzy Glow's path is worth noting. She spent years building her own infrastructure, managing releases, shows, and creative direction on her own before landing a major label deal. The mixtape format and the catalog of singles she built independently gave her leverage coming in.
