Dallas rapper Yakiyn released his new single 'TALKIN FYE' on August 6, 2026, via Interscope Capitol. The track was produced by Fki 1st, who has production credits with 2 Chainz, Don Toliver, and Kash Doll.

The song blends whirring synths, bass-heavy production, and keyboard melodies. On it, Yakiyn delivers the kind of flex-heavy bars he has become known for, including the line: 'Them n, s small fries, I keep it calm guys / Popping these tags on Com Garç, this shirt cost like 'bout four tires.'

'TALKIN FYE' follows 'GET THE LOOT,' which dropped in March. Since then, Yakiyn has stayed active. He performed at Complex's Family Style festival in Los Angeles and Wingstop's House of Flavor event in Dallas. He also appears on Isaiah Falls' song 'Flawless,' shows up in Samara Cyn's 'oooshxt!' video, and has a role in two Shaboozey visuals, 'Born To Die' and 'Cowgirl.'

Earlier this year, Yakiyn made a surprise appearance during Isaiah Rashad's Coachella set and performed at SXSW, where he opened for Don Toliver at the Billboard showcase and performed alongside TDE. Rolling Stone covered the TDE set in a 'Best Moments' roundup, writing that Yakiyn 'got the crowd going wild immediately' and showed 'songwriting as strong as his bars.'

In early 2026, the Dallas Mavericks presented Yakiyn with a custom Lonestar Yak NBA jersey and played his single 'SPREAD LIKE BUTTA' over the arena sound system. The release drew coverage from VIBE and Complex, along with a public cosign from SZA. A subsequent single, 'CALCULATE,' co-produced by BNYX, led to a feature in the Dallas Observer. His video for 'PUT DEM BOYS TO SLEEP' features Leon Bridges.

Yakiyn has also toured with Rashad and Lexa Gates, modeled in campaigns for TDE and Yeezy, and appeared in Doechii's Denial Is a River sitcom skits. In 2024 he released the SAD BOI EP, which includes 'YEA' featuring Rashad and Luke Bar$. According to the release, that track has surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify.

For independent artists paying attention, Yakiyn's path is worth studying. He has built visibility through consistent visual output, cross-genre collaborations, and live performances at brand and festival stages before a major label push. The groundwork was laid long before the Interscope deal.

'TALKIN FYE' is out now.
