Dayanara has released "Empezar de Cero," a new single from her debut studio album TERAPIA, featuring Mexican singer Carolina Ross. The track dropped August 5, 2026.
The collaboration connects two artists from different corners of Latin America. Dayanara is Ecuadorian; Carolina Ross is from Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. According to the release, Ross has built an audience of more than 4 million YouTube subscribers through her work in Regional Mexican music, with a career that spans Mexico and the United States.
"Empezar de Cero" sits within the larger arc of TERAPIA, which the release describes as a project where each song represents a different stage of a healing process. The album blends Regional Mexican music, Colombian popular music, and the Ecuadorian requinto sound.
Some of the lyrics anchoring the song: "¿Y qué tal si me doy una oportunidad contigo? ¿Qué tal si eres la recompensa para lo que he sufrido?" The track frames the idea of starting over not as defeat, but as a deliberate act of courage.
The single arrives as Dayanara's profile continues to grow. According to the press release, she recently became the first Ecuadorian artist to sell out Quito's Plaza de Toros, drawing more than 15,000 attendees.
For independent artists, the move here is worth paying attention to: Dayanara is using her debut album as an ongoing platform, rolling out features strategically to expand her reach across Latin American markets rather than dropping everything at once. Each collaboration adds a new audience without diluting the album's core identity.
"Empezar de Cero" is available now on streaming platforms.
