Dolly Parton SongTeller Hotel and Museum Opening Dates Set

Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel opens September 29 in Nashville, and the Life of Many Colors Museum follows in October on the property's third floor. Both projects were completed after Parton's death at 80 on August 25, and they represent the clearest window yet into how she wanted her legacy to live in a physical space.

The hotel was built in partnership with entertainment company Herschend and carries Parton's fingerprints throughout. She personally curated the items in the 245 guest rooms and suites, and the property includes everything from the Acoustic Suites, which display her guitars and album art alongside optional in-room songwriting sessions, to the Six Sisters suites designed to honor her bond with her five sisters. The two-story SongTeller Suite sits at the top of the offering.

Beyond the rooms, the hotel is built around live music. Parton's Live hosts a full menu, a bar, and live music seven nights a week. Jolene's lounge spotlights Nashville's up-and-coming songwriters and singers nightly. The Listening Lobby runs what the hotel calls 9 to 5 Music Moments, playing one of Parton's songs at the top of every hour, and hosts a daily creative writing and journaling session called It's All Writing Hour, where guests get supplies to write their own material.

What the Life of Many Colors Museum Offers Visitors

The museum is billed as the largest exhibit celebrating Parton's life ever assembled. It spans her career across music, film, philanthropy, and personal history, and uses technology filmed with Parton earlier this year so she can narrate her own story throughout the experience.

The exhibit includes Dolly's Writing Room, a Hall of Fame, a Life on the Road display, Dolly's Wardrobe featuring costumes from seven decades of public life, and a recreation of the small Smoky Mountain cabin she grew up in. There is also an Imagination Library zone honoring her book-giving program, which has distributed more than 300 million books to children worldwide. Parton posted a promo video for the museum on Instagram just weeks before she died, calling it "the biggest exhibit of yours truly that the world has ever seen."

Tickets for the museum go on sale September 20. Guest reservations for the hotel open September 14.
