FILLY has released "Kate S.O.S.," a new pop-electronic single featuring The Stylist, out now via Interscope Records, slowplay, and Bamboo Artists. The track follows her April 2026 EP, Music So Loud I Can't Hear A Thing, and continues building toward what the label describes as a sophomore studio album.
The song leans into early-2000s fashion and club culture, referencing Kate Moss, Vogue, and late-night European nightlife. It lands somewhere between hyperpop and European dance music, two lanes FILLY has been working since her 2022 debut single "Motorola."
How "Kate S.O.S." Was Made and Who Is On It
FILLY wrote the track across multiple sessions and cities. She started it in Los Angeles at the American Cement Building with Alli Logout, one half of DeBasement, and a producer credited as UHD. Additional work came from collaborators atlgrandma and Jesse St. John. She finished the song back in Vienna with a collaborator known as inner tongue.
"'Kate S.O.S' started in LA at the American Cement Building, a brutalist concrete space that was basically the perfect setting for a slightly unhinged club song," FILLY said. "The song is all about 2000s fashion, club chaos, and the fantasy of partying with Kate Moss for a night. I also got my friends' project, The Stylist, involved, because honestly, what could be more iconic? It's all very tongue-in-cheek. Think fashion, a little french, and absolutely no plans to go home. Now put us on the guestlist!"
The Stylist is credited as a featured artist on the track. The production chain on this single is notably collaborative, pulling in writers and producers from both the US and Austria, which reflects how FILLY has operated throughout her career. Before launching her own project, she spent years as a topliner, writing and lending her voice to other artists' tracks before deciding to build a project she could fully claim.
"Kate S.O.S." is available now on Spotify and Apple Music.
FILLY's Discography and What Comes Next
FILLY broke out in 2022 with "Motorola" and has released steadily since. Her debut album, Watching Strangers Smile, came out in 2023. That was followed by the 2024 EP Cowgirl In A Cowboy World. In 2025, she signed with slowplay, Interscope Records, and Bamboo Artists, and released the single "Whatever Happens" around the same time she introduced an alien visual concept that has become a recurring part of her creative identity. Her April 2026 EP, Music So Loud I Can't Hear A Thing, set up the current run of singles.
According to the release, a sophomore studio album is in progress. The label describes it as a project that will pull between FILLY's high-BPM hyperpop persona and a more stripped-back side of her songwriting.
On the live front, FILLY played Lollapalooza Berlin over the summer of 2026. This fall, she joins SOPHIE and the Giants as a support act for five dates on their November European tour. No North American tour dates are announced at this time. Keep an eye on the [SDFTP events calendar](/events) for any LA-area appearances.
What Independent Artists Can Take From This Campaign
The rollout on "Kate S.O.S." is worth studying regardless of where you are in your career. FILLY is on a major label imprint and still leaning on a genuinely collaborative writing process with a mix of emerging and underground names. The credits include producers who likely did not come through traditional A&R channels, which tells you that even major-label releases are increasingly built the same way independent projects are: through community, sessions, and trust.
The other thing to note is the specificity of the concept. The song has a clearly defined aesthetic, a real location where it started, a cultural reference point in early-2000s fashion, and a tone that is committed enough to carry a whole campaign. That level of creative clarity is something any independent artist can build into a release, whether or not a label is involved.
