Greta Van Fleet Announce New Album 'Palace For The People,' Drop New Single 'Saw You Stand'

Greta Van Fleet have announced their new album Palace For The People, due October 9 via Republic Records. The band released the first single, "Saw You Stand," on July 31, 2026.

The album was recorded in Tennessee in the spring of 2026 and co-produced by the band and Mike Elizondo, whose production credits include work with Turnstile, Eminem, and Fiona Apple. Palace For The People follows their previously released single "Play Your Games."

Lead guitarist Jake Kiszka described the record's direction in the release: "As much as it is a Greta Van Fleet record and a rock and roll record at its core, in its heart, it's a very modern record."

The band recorded the album during a period they intentionally kept clear of touring and press. Lead singer Josh Kiszka spoke to how that time shaped the work: "We've grown closer, and we have more to say and share than ever." Drummer Danny Wagner added, "The minute the four of us step into a room with the shared goal of creating, there is very little that can stop us."

The album title traces back to a 2022 tour stop in London. According to the band, a friend explained that Alexandra Palace, known as "Ally Pally," was originally named "The Palace of the People" and built as a public gathering space in the Victorian era. Bassist and keyboardist Sam Kiszka said the concept landed differently once they connected it to their own fanbase: "I can't tell you how many people have come up to me and said 'This is my best friend. We met through your music or at your show,' and we realized, the music is our palace!"

To mark the announcement, the band played a sold-out show July 31 at The Metro in Chicago, one of the city's smaller club venues.

The band is made up of vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist and keyboardist Sam Kiszka, and drummer Danny Wagner. They are from Frankenmuth, Michigan.

For independent artists, the Elizondo co-production credit is worth noting. He has worked across a wide range of genres and budgets, and his name on a rock record this size signals how much the sonic boundary between rock and other formats continues to blur at the major label level.
