The EMPIRE artist and 1804 Records founder releases the intro track visual from 'I Can't Do No Wrong'

Jackboy has released a music video for "Far From Average," the intro track from his album I Can't Do No Wrong, out now on EMPIRE. The video is streaming on YouTube and the album is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
"Far From Average" opens I Can't Do No Wrong, which Jackboy released under his own imprint, 1804 Records. The label name honors the year Haiti gained independence from France. The album's artwork pulls from that same history, using an image of Toussaint Louverture, the Haitian general and political leader who played a central role in the 1804 revolution, rendered as the 1804 Records logo.
The visual for "Far From Average" centers on two chapters in Jackboy's personal life: a physical transformation he has undergone and his conversion to Islam. Both are treated in the video as interconnected parts of the same shift in how he carries himself and what he's building.
What Is the "Far From Average" Video About
The press release describes the track as a trap ballad. Where much of Jackboy's catalog has leaned into street narratives rooted in his upbringing in Pompano Beach, Florida, "Far From Average" opens the album on a reflective note. The video leans into that mood, framing his physical and spiritual changes as evidence of growth rather than departure.
Jackboy has been releasing music under EMPIRE since the mid-2020s, building a catalog that spans mixtapes and studio projects. I Can't Do No Wrong is positioned as a full-length statement and has drawn coverage from UPROXX, Complex, XXL, and Okayplayer since its release. UPROXX called it "one of his best projects yet, showcasing the Florida rapper's creative growth over the years." XXL noted, "One thing for sure: Jackboy is on his way."
The album was produced with support from EMPIRE, one of the larger independent distribution and label services in the industry. For artists paying attention, that structure is worth noting: Jackboy is simultaneously signed to a major independent while operating his own imprint, giving him both distribution muscle and ownership over his label identity.
Where to Stream "Far From Average" and What Comes Next
The video is live on YouTube now. The full album I Can't Do No Wrong is available on Spotify and Apple Music. No tour dates were announced in the release, and no producer credits for "Far From Average" were included.
Jackboy is available for interviews through Audible Treats publicist Francesca Collado. If your outlet is interested in reaching out, that contact is noted in the release.
The 1804 Records setup is a useful case study for independent artists thinking about how to operate inside a larger distribution deal without giving up their own brand. Jackboy built a label identity with a specific cultural meaning, tied it to the artwork of a full-length album, and released it through a structure that keeps his name attached to the imprint rather than just the artist slot on a roster. That is a replicable approach, and it is worth studying.
