# Just Jayne Debut EP 'Jayne' Out Now on The Core Records
Nashville country-pop trio Just Jayne released their debut EP, Jayne, on August 14, 2026, via The Core Records. The seven-track project is streaming now at JustJayne.lnk.to/JayneEP. Alongside the release, the group dropped visualizers for two new songs, "Emergency Contact" and "Bad Day," with "Emergency Contact" serving as the EP's focus track.
The trio is made up of Taylor Edwards (Georgia), Jillian Steele (New York), and Rachel Wiggins (California/Arkansas), all of whom met as songwriting majors at Belmont University in Nashville. Just Jayne formed in 2023 and gained early TikTok traction before releasing any official music. The name Jayne was built from pieces of the three members' own names and became the conceptual center of the project.
"When the three of us first started writing together, we realized that even though we grew up in completely different places, we had so many of the same experiences and feelings," the group said in a statement. "That's really where Jayne came from. She started as a combination of the three of us, but she's become every girl in a way, your best friend, your big sister, or a version of yourself. We hope people can hear these songs and find a little piece of themselves in her."
Who Wrote and Produced the Just Jayne 'Jayne' EP
The EP brings together a notable writing room. Meghan Trainor, Kid Harpoon, and Tyler Johnson co-wrote "Bad Day." Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson are both known for their work with Harry Styles, and Johnson has additional credits with SZA and Sam Smith. "Emergency Contact," the focus track, was co-written by the trio alongside Sasha Alex Sloan, who has writing credits with LANY and Camila Cabello, and producer King Henry. Allison Veltz Cruz, a Nashville songwriter with credits on records by Jason Aldean, Nate Smith, and Josh Ross, is among the other collaborators on the project.
Five of the seven tracks are previously released singles: "Love A Loser," "What's His Name?," "Climate Change," "Death & Taxes," and "White Picket Fence." "Bad Day" and "Emergency Contact" are new. "Climate Change" was released in fall 2025 and appeared on the official soundtrack to the film Nobody Wants This, according to the release. The EP is distributed through The Core Records, an imprint connected to The Core Entertainment, which manages the group.
Just Jayne held a record release party at Flamingo on August 13, the night before the EP dropped, performing the full project live.

Prior to the Nate Smith and Ashley Cooke runs, Just Jayne has also toured with Maddie & Tae, Billy Currington, and Tyler Hubbard, which gives you a sense of the country infrastructure they have been plugging into since forming three years ago. Taste of Country included them in its "RISERS: 2026 Artists to Watch" feature.
What Independent Artists Can Take From the Just Jayne Campaign
The rollout here is a clean example of sequencing done right: five singles released over roughly a year built a catalog and an audience before the EP arrived. By the time the project dropped, five of seven tracks already had streaming histories and playlisting potential behind them. The two new songs, including the focus track, gave existing fans a reason to come back on release day and gave press a news hook beyond just "here is an EP." The visualizer release for both new tracks added search surface without requiring a full-budget video for every song.
If you are an independent artist working toward a project release, the structure is worth studying: build the body of work in public, hold two tracks for the day of, and make at least one of those the emotional centerpiece. You do not need a major label deal to apply that logic. If you are looking to share your own music with the community, [submit it here](/submit) and we will get it in front of the right ears.
