British singer, songwriter, and producer LAUREL has released "Bow Down," a new single and self-directed music video, out November 5, 2026, on 3 Vultures Records. The track is the third preview of her upcoming third studio album, Crying on the Tennis Court, arriving January 22, 2027.

"Bow Down" is about enduring, chosen love rather than the rush of a new relationship. LAUREL wrote and produced it alone at a treehouse cabin in Los Angeles.

"Bow Down is about eternal love. I realised there's a lot of songs about the beginning of love and lust but not many about loving forever. Because to love forever is a choice, every day you have to choose to worship and devote yourself to one," she says. "I wrote and produced this in my little treehouse cabin in LA thinking of England and its old churches and heritage. I wanted to make something that sounded as big [as] it feels to love entirely and completely."

For the video, LAUREL stepped behind the camera herself, shooting with a small team in Los Angeles. The visual centers on the relationship between a horse and rider.

"The horse submits to the rider yet has the power to destroy him/her. The rider trusts in the relationship with the horse and submits to the danger that the horse is capable of. They are totally trusting and submitting to each other," she explains. "Submitting is a big part of loving, and letting someone love you. Love is respecting the power dynamic and not taking advantage of the other's vulnerability."

What Is Crying on the Tennis Court and Where to Stream It

Crying on the Tennis Court is LAUREL's third studio album and her first fully self-produced full-length since her 2018 debut DOGVIOLET. Her second album, PALPITATIONS, came out in 2024. The new record is out January 22, 2027 via 3 Vultures Records and is available to pre-save now.

The album is framed as a coming-of-age story, setting the experience of growing up in the English suburbs against a love story connected to old English wealth and heritage. All writing, recording, and production on the album was done by LAUREL alone.

"Bow Down" is the third single from the project. The first, "French Kiss," was written, recorded, and produced in under an hour in her LA bedroom. LAUREL co-directed the accompanying film-grain video in Paris. The second was the title track, "Crying on the Tennis Court." Both are available to stream now on major platforms.

Separate from the album campaign, LAUREL collaborated with GRAMMY-nominated DJ and producer FISHER on a single called "Staring At the Sun" last month. FISHER is known for high-energy electronic productions and a string of festival-circuit releases. The LAUREL collaboration pairs her vocals with what the press release describes as a euphoric, emotive sound.

According to the release, LAUREL has accumulated over 340 million streams across her catalogue. She first gained attention with the single "Next Time," released a series of EPs, and has toured extensively across North America, Europe, and Australia. She has played Coachella, Radio 1's Big Weekend, Latitude, and Frequency festivals, and has supported Flume, MØ, and MUNA.

When LAUREL Plays London and What Live Dates Are Coming

On the night this single dropped, November 5, 2026, LAUREL played a show at The Waiting Room in London. According to the release, it sold out within hours of going on sale. That follows a sold-out performance at Permanent Records Roadhouse in Los Angeles on October 28, 2026.

The release states that additional live dates will be announced alongside more from Crying on the Tennis Court ahead of the January 2027 release. No specific dates or cities beyond London have been confirmed at the time of this writing. Keep an eye on [upcoming shows and events](/events) for updates as they come.

For independent artists, LAUREL's campaign is worth studying closely. She wrote, produced, directed, and in some cases co-directed every piece of this rollout herself. "French Kiss" came together in under an hour in a bedroom. The "Bow Down" video was shot with a small team. The result is a cohesive, fully realized world built without handing creative control to outside collaborators. The lesson is not that you need a treehouse cabin in LA. It is that total ownership of your sound and your visuals, even at a small scale, compounds over time into something with its own clear identity.
