Lex Amarni Drops "YSL" on All Streaming Platforms

Lex Amarni has released his new single "YSL" on major streaming platforms as of September 4, 2026. The track was previously available only on SoundCloud, making this its first appearance on Spotify, Apple Music, and other services. Amarni is a 21-year-old UK producer and rapper signed to Interscope Capitol, the label behind the release.

The move brings one of his earlier catalog pieces to a wider audience at a moment when his numbers are climbing. According to the press release, Amarni currently sits at 3.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify. His breakout single "The Kill 2" has surpassed 60 million streams on the platform and appeared on 22 Spotify Viral Charts globally. The release also cites 350,000 streams per day and roughly 2,000 daily TikTok creates for that track, with the United States now listed as its biggest market.

"YSL" is a standalone single release. No album or EP has been announced at this time, though the release states that more new music is coming throughout 2026, including a follow-up to "The Kill 2" with what the release describes as a notable feature lineup.

Who Is Lex Amarni and How He Built His Sound

Amarni started making music around age 10, beginning with GarageBand before moving to FL Studio, which he learned through online tutorials without formal instruction. That self-taught background in production is central to how he works. He was building beats for other artists before he started rapping himself, a transition he made in 2024.

His production influences include Skrillex, Diplo, and Fatboy Slim. On the rap side, the release points to Travis Scott and Death Grips as reference points, a combination that tracks with the sound he has developed: underground rap layered with electronic textures and Northern UK dance culture. The result is a style that does not fit cleanly into either genre, which appears to be intentional.

His existing catalog includes collaborations with artists rvaia and 2muchmotion, along with production work alongside yukan. Photo credit for the current press campaign goes to Sully, credited as @_sullman.

Amarni is part of a wave coming out of the UK underground rap scene that has produced artists like Esdeekid and Feng. What separates his trajectory so far is that his growth started in that underground space and expanded outward, with US listeners now driving a significant portion of his streaming numbers.

Where to Stream "YSL" and What Comes Next

"YSL" is available now on Spotify, and links are live across Amarni's social platforms. You can also find his catalog on SoundCloud, where he built his initial following before signing with Interscope Capitol.

No specific tour dates or live shows are listed in this release. His social presence spans Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud. All booking and press inquiries route through Ariel Thompson at Interscope Capitol.

The label has confirmed that more releases are planned for the remainder of 2026, including the follow-up to "The Kill 2." That project has not been given a title or release date in this announcement.

What Independent Artists Can Take From This Campaign

Amarni's story up to this point is a useful case study for artists building outside the traditional system. He spent years producing for others before putting his own voice on records, which gave him a technical foundation and a network before he ever needed attention on himself. His early tracks lived on SoundCloud and built a real following there, and "YSL" being a "fan favorite" before it ever hit a major platform shows that audience development does not have to start with a label.

The move to officially release a track that already has proven demand is a low-risk way to bring catalog material to new listeners without spending resources testing whether something will land. If you have tracks that your existing audience responds to but that are not yet on streaming platforms, that catalog represents an asset you may not be fully using.
