MAJOR. Drops "May This Moment Never End" Single on UnitedMasters
MAJOR. released his new soul single "May This Moment Never End" on August 21, 2026, through his independent imprint nowthatsMAJOR Music Group in partnership with UnitedMasters. The track was written by MAJOR. and David "DLo" Outing, who also produced it. It is available now on streaming platforms.
The single arrives as a standalone release, not yet tied to a named album. Its sound is described in the press materials as warm and soulful with a dance-floor groove. The song's theme centers on choosing love repeatedly across different seasons of life, framed around celebrating that experience with a close partner.
Before the official drop, the song had already circulated on social media. MAJOR. performed "May This Moment Never End" at T.I. and Tiny Harris' 16th wedding anniversary vow renewal ceremony in Jamaica. During that event he also performed his Platinum-certified single "Why I Love You" as Tiny Harris walked down the aisle. He then introduced the new song alongside a dance move he calls the "La La Step," with T.I. and Tiny Harris joining in. Clips from the performance spread across social media ahead of the release date.
Who Is MAJOR. and What Is "Why I Love You"
MAJOR. is a Grammy-nominated R&B and soul singer, songwriter, and actor based in Los Angeles. He broke through with "Why I Love You," a Platinum-certified single that became a fixture at weddings and has accumulated more than half a billion digital streams across his catalog, according to his press materials. "May This Moment Never End" arrives as MAJOR. marks the 10th anniversary of that breakout record, making the timing intentional: the new single is framed as the next chapter in the same musical conversation about love.
Beyond "Why I Love You," his catalog spans four independent solo projects and includes the Billboard number one gospel record "I Prayed For You," as well as "For The Win" and "Joy In The Battle." He has received nominations from the Grammys, Soul Train Awards, Stellar Awards, Dove Awards, and the NAACP Image Awards, where he has been nominated nine times.
His philanthropic work runs through the MAJOR.HOPE Foundation, and his career is currently the subject of a new exhibit at the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, according to the press release.
Producer David "DLo" Outing co-wrote the track alongside MAJOR. The press release also notes early support from Stevie Wonder, David Porter, and Kandi Burruss, though the nature of those co-signs is not specified beyond that characterization.
MAJOR. quoted in the release: "I believe the world truly needs this love anthem now more than ever. Despite the heaviness of now, the joys of moments we share are worth cherishing for a lifetime!"
Where to Stream and What Comes Next for MAJOR.
"May This Moment Never End" is available now on major streaming platforms through nowthatsMAJOR Music Group and UnitedMasters. UnitedMasters is an independent distribution platform that gives artists ownership of their masters while providing access to major-label-style distribution infrastructure. MAJOR. using UnitedMasters for this release is worth noting for independent artists watching how established acts handle distribution: he built his own label imprint and routes releases through a platform that keeps the rights on his side.
No tour dates or follow-up project have been announced in the press materials at this time. The Nashville exhibit at the National Museum of African American Music is ongoing, and his social channels carry the handles across Instagram, X, Facebook, and YouTube under the MAJOR. name.
For independent artists, this campaign carries a clear lesson in timing. MAJOR. did not wait for a release day to create a moment. He performed the unreleased song at a high-profile, emotionally loaded event, let the social clips do early work, then dropped it officially. The pre-release visibility was organic to the setting rather than manufactured. That kind of strategic placement, finding the right room to debut new music before it formally exists, is something any independent artist can think about at a smaller scale.
