Maoli has released "Golden Days," a new track appearing on Moana: Voices Across The Ocean, a companion album tied to Disney's live-action Moana adaptation. The song is out now on Spotify and Apple Music.
The release arrives ahead of MMO3, Maoli's next full-length album, due August 28 via ONErpm. The 12-track project is produced by Grammy-winner J-Vibe (Jason Farmer) and continues the MMO (Maoli Music Overload) series following two installments released in 2023. The album blends roots reggae, island soul, and country, and includes previously released singles "Good On You," "Some Are Just Better," "Clarity" featuring Kabaka Pyramid, "Feels Like Love," and "Runnin' Me Off" featuring Maddie Font of Maddie & Tae.
"If I have one person listening, 10 people listening, or 10,000 people listening, it doesn't matter," Maoli said in a statement. "I want to show the world we're very similar, and I think it's my purpose, my calling. I really believe this music we play could do a lot of great things. I believe it could change the world for better."
Maoli has a handful of tour dates running through late September, including a stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on August 22 and a slot at Louisville's Bourbon & Beyond festival September 24 through 27. He also plays the Northwest Washington Fair on August 16, Concerts on the Slopes in Park City, UT on August 21, and Ho'olulu Complex in Hilo, HI on August 29.
The Hawaii-based artist has been performing for over 15 years. His 2010 album Rock Easy charted on Billboard's Reggae chart, according to the release, and he won Group of the Year and Album of the Year at iHeart's Island Awards in 2020. The release also credits him with over 1.1 billion lifetime streams.
For independent artists, Maoli's path is worth noting: he built a devoted fanbase over more than a decade in a regional lane before crossing into mainstream country and mainstream pop contexts, eventually landing a Disney placement. The MMO series format, releasing catalog-style projects through an indie-friendly distributor like ONErpm, is a model that keeps creative output consistent and ownership intact.
