Evan Honer has released a new single called "pull me out," featuring Medium Build, the project of singer/songwriter Nick Carpenter. The track is out now.

The two debuted the song at the Newport Folk Festival before making it available to the public. Carpenter shared his take on working with Honer: "Evan's such a damn talent. I loved getting to get creative with him and hear his inner world come to life. So excited to be a small part of his journey."

For Honer, landing a collaborator with Carpenter's profile is a real moment. Medium Build has drawn coverage from Rolling Stone, Billboard, NME, and others, and Carpenter is currently supporting Mumford and Sons on a summer run before heading into a headlining U.S. tour this fall.

Carpenter is also preparing to release King of Having Fun, his next full-length album, on September 4. It will be his first full-length since Country, released in 2024.

For independent artists watching from the outside, the path here is worth noting: Honer got a co-sign that came with real visibility, a festival debut, and a recorded collaboration, all at once. That kind of intentional relationship-building with other artists can open doors that a marketing budget alone cannot.

"pull me out" is available now on streaming platforms.
