British artist and songwriter MEEK has released her new single "Expensive Taste" via BMG. The track is out now across all platforms, with an accompanying visual available on YouTube.

MEEK wrote the song while splitting time between her basement flat in Brixton and writing sessions in Los Angeles. "I found the contrast really funny, living between two completely different worlds," she said. "The song doesn't take itself too seriously, and neither do I."

"Expensive Taste" follows her earlier singles "Fabulous" and "Beautiful Freeks."

Starting August 3, MEEK joins Kesha as a special guest on select North American tour dates. Here is the full run:, Mon Aug 3, Shakopee, MN, Mystic Lake Amphitheater, Wed Aug 5, Rogers, AR, Walmart AMP, Fri Aug 7, Dallas, TX, Dos Equis Pavilion, Sun Aug 9, Austin, TX, Germania Insurance Amphitheater, Wed Aug 12, Charlotte, NC, Truliant Amphitheater, Fri Aug 14, Bristow, VA, Jiffy Lube Live, Sat Aug 15, Hershey, PA, Hersheypark Stadium

After the North American run, MEEK returns to the UK this fall for her own headline tour, closing out at London's Electric Brixton.

Rolling Stone UK wrote of her: "What if Chappell Roan and Freddie Mercury had a baby? ... might just be the fucking fabulous popstar that British music has spent a long time waiting for." According to the press release, Rolling Stone also named her to its 25 Artists to Watch list as part of its Future of Music feature.

Earlier this summer MEEK performed at Mighty Hoopla, Capital's Summertime Ball, and London Pride. She also appeared on Saturday Night Live in the UK and made her North American late night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

For independent artists, MEEK's path here is worth noting: a publishing deal with a major, strategic festival appearances to build credibility at home, and a support slot with a proven touring act to break a new market. That sequencing is a real playbook.

"Expensive Taste" is out now.
