Milo J Drops Live from NPR's Tiny Desk EP
Argentine artist Milo J released Live from NPR's Tiny Desk on July 30, 2026, an EP capturing the seven songs performed during his April 30 Tiny Desk session. The release is out now on all streaming platforms.
The tracklist moves through the full arc of that session: two songs that were unreleased at the time of taping, "Recordé" and "Cuestiones," followed by an "Interludio" and four tracks from his album La Vida Era Más Corta: "Solificanl2," "Bajo De La Piel," "Niño," and "Luciérnagas." That last track was originally recorded with Cuban songwriter Silvio Rodríguez.
Milo J was joined on the session by Agarrate Catalina, a Uruguayan murga collective. The performance drew on elements of folklore, zamba, and chacarera alongside contemporary production. According to the release, the video has pulled more than 15 million views on YouTube.
The desk itself was loaded with objects chosen to represent where Milo J comes from: a Deportivo Morón pennant, a mate thermos, a copy of Martín Fierro, a Madres de Plaza de Mayo headscarf, a doll inscribed with "Nunca Más," the Argentine flag, a Mercedes Sosa magazine, an Islas Malvinas plaque, an Horacio Guarany vinyl, and a poncho gifted to him by Soledad Pastorutti at the Cosquín Festival. The staging made the cultural context of the performance impossible to miss.
The EP drops the same week as Milo J's U.S. debut. On August 1, he performs at Central Park's SummerStage in New York as part of the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC). He shares the bill with Trueno, J Noa, and DJ Albina Cabrera. The event is supported by The Latin Recording Academy.
For independent artists, the move is worth noting: releasing a live EP timed to a major performance milestone keeps the moment working for you well after the video goes up. The Tiny Desk format gave Milo J a stage to tell a full story, and the EP extends that story's shelf life on DSPs where the video can't follow.
