Naisha released her debut EP 911 today, August 7, via Interscope Records and Desi Trill. The three-track project is executive produced by Naisha alongside Skrillex and Dilip Venkatesh, and features BEAM and Ty Dolla $ign.
Alongside the EP, Naisha dropped the music video for "CONTRABAND," which features Skrillex, BEAM and Dilip Venkatesh. The video was shot in Mumbai, with creative direction by Naisha and direction from Ruby and Colin Tilley. The clip follows Naisha through city streets, crowds and dance sequences.
The EP's tracklist:
1. so then (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) 2. CONTRABAND (feat. Skrillex, BEAM & Dilip) 3. jaana
Born and raised in India and now splitting time between Los Angeles and Mumbai, Naisha pulls from a wide range of references including Aaliyah, D'Angelo, Bob Marley and classic Bollywood. Across 911 she moves between English, Hindi and Caribbean patois, a nod to her Trinidadian heritage on her mother's side.
In a statement, Naisha said: "For the last few years, people have heard me through collaborations and features, but those songs were only a glimpse into my world. With 911, I finally get to share a project that feels completely mine. My melodies, my influences, my perspective start to finish."
She added: "*911* is emotional, chaotic, playful, honest and completely my world."
Naisha previously appeared on Skrillex's album SOMA on the track "Diwali," and in 2024 was featured on a Skrillex collaboration with Four Tet and Champion titled "Talk To Me." In recent months she has also launched her Naish To Meet Ya DJ party series and appeared on festival stages internationally.
For independent artists, Naisha's path is worth noting: she built her profile through features and collaborations over several years before owning her debut project fully as executive producer and creative director. The EP is out now on all streaming platforms.
