Los Angeles-rooted dance producer Nala has released her new EP Find Your Paradise through her own label, Mi Domina Records. The four-track project is her first solo EP since 2021, and it arrives fully self-funded and on her own terms.

The EP is disco-laced and groove-forward, built around a specific intention. Nala wrote it during a period when she was feeling overwhelmed by modern life, and the music reflects what actually helped: movement, time in nature, and real human connection. It is less a collection of club tracks and more a structured argument for getting off your phone and into a room with other people.

"I wrote this EP as a medicine," Nala says. "When I was feeling my worst, nature, dancing and real human connection were what grounded me. I wanted to make something that gave people that same sense of relief and safety, but made them move at the same time."

What Nala's Mi Domina Records Release Means for Independent Dance Artists

The decision to release through Mi Domina was deliberate. Nala built the label specifically so she could control the creative and business side of her work without compromise. Every collaborator on this project came from her own artistic and professional community. That kind of structural independence is increasingly rare in a genre where major-adjacent deals and streaming placement algorithms tend to dictate what gets made.

This is not a debut move from an unknown. Nala has played Coachella, Ultra, and EDC. She has toured alongside Dom Dolla, John Summit, and Solomun. She has done official remixes for Dom Dolla and Nelly Furtado, and she holds consistent rotation on BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM. A 2024 Beatport Next Artist and Mixmag Lab alum, she came up in the LA underground and has been expanding outward from that foundation ever since.

Find Your Paradise lands right after what she describes as a landmark year, one that included a Coachella appearance with her duo project Girl Math and a US tour alongside Malugi and Solomun. The EP reads as both a culmination of that momentum and a deliberate reset toward something more personal.

For independent producers watching how artists build sustainable careers without handing over creative control, Nala's model is worth studying. She owns the imprint, she funds the work, and she curates every layer of the project's visual and sonic identity herself. That is the job, done fully.
