PlaqueBoyMax has released his new single "Diva" through Field Trip Recordings and Capitol Records. The track blends rap with club production, built around synths, pulsing bass, and back-to-back verses.

The timing is no accident. Max just came off a breakout week at Kai Cenat's Streamer University, where the release says he gained more than 400,000 new followers in under a week. "Diva" was already circulating as a catchphrase from the event before the song officially dropped.

The single also carries a direct nod to Prince. Max has leaned into an expressive new era that includes a "DIVA" tattoo and a new logo that draws from Prince's Love Symbol.

"Diva" is the latest in a steady run of releases. "Thong Song" came out in June, the Crash Dummy EP dropped in May, and before that Max released "wyd" featuring Bryson Tiller, with a music video starring Keke Palmer.

This year has been busy for Max beyond just music. He received the Disruptor Award at Billboard's Power 100 event and landed at number 10 on Complex's Hip Hop Media Power Ranking: The 2026 Edition. Complex noted that "despite his crossover into music creation, Plaqueboymax still has one of the most important platforms in hip-hop media."

According to the release, Max made history earlier in 2026 as the first streamer to receive a GRAMMY nomination, earning a Best Dance/Electronic Recording nod for "Victory Lap," his collaboration with Fred again.. and Skepta. The three won Best Dance Act at the BRIT Awards. Max also made his festival debut this year with sets at Rolling Loud Orlando and Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash.

His backstory is worth noting for independent artists watching his trajectory. Max built his platform through his In The Booth streaming series on Twitch and YouTube, where he produced and recorded artists live on air. That series eventually attracted guests including Lil Baby, Burna Boy, Central Cee, and Will Smith, and helped him develop the audience and industry relationships that led to a major label deal. He did not start with a label. He started with a stream.

According to the release, Max has accumulated more than 350 million global streams and nearly 10 million monthly Spotify listeners.

"Diva" is out now on all major platforms.
