Prescription Songs Signs Producer, Songwriter, and Engineer Rich Harris in Partnership With Pray For My Haters

Prescription Songs has signed Rich Harris, a Nashville-based producer, songwriter, and engineer, in a deal led by A&Rs Chris Martingago and Sophia Battaglia. The signing is structured in partnership with Pray For My Haters (PFMH), a boutique creative company co-founded by record producer and songwriter Tony Esterly and manager Dave Hopper.

Harris grew up in the St. Louis hip-hop scene and has built a reputation for delivering release-ready tracks across production, songwriting, and engineering. He holds an RIAA platinum certification for engineering work and has collaborated with artists including SZA, DJ Khaled, Sexyy Red, Luh Kel, and December 10. His sync credits include placements with Giorgio Armani, the NFL, Maybelline, VH1, Google, and Hulu.

"This is the dream team," Harris said. "I'm very grateful to be working with a group of people that so personally understands my work and operates with such intention. Everyone on this crew has already been pushing hard for me and I couldn't be more excited to have made this official."

Martingago noted that the relationship with Harris goes back to a pandemic-era online community connection made through Tony Esterly. "It's been a really cool full-circle moment to now be partnering with him on this signing," he said. "We're excited to be part of the next phase of Rich's career, and for people to hear his skills in the room and across every release."

PFMH said in a statement that Harris represents the qualities the company looks for in a signing, citing his depth, versatility, technical skill, and creative drive.

Prescription Songs is an independent publishing company with offices in Los Angeles and Nashville. PFMH has previously co-published songwriters in partnership with Concord and Downtown Music Publishing, with placements spanning artist releases, film, television, and advertising.

For independent artists paying attention: Harris built his career covering all three roles, producer, songwriter, and engineer, and that triple threat value is a big part of what got him to a publishing deal. The ability to deliver a finished record without depending on outside collaborators is a real differentiator.
