Pusha T and Pharrell Launch Grindin Coffee with Lavazza
The longtime collaborators turn their classic 2002 track into a new coffee brand backed by Italian roasting giant Lavazza.

Pusha T and Pharrell Williams have launched Grindin Coffee, a new consumer brand powered by Italian coffee company Lavazza. The debut lineup includes medium- and dark-roast blends available in ground and whole bean formats. According to the announcement, the brand draws inspiration from the duo's early-morning studio routines and positions coffee as fuel for creativity and work ethic.
The name pulls directly from "Grindin'," the Clipse single Pusha T and his brother No Malice released in 2002 on Star Trak Entertainment and Arista Records. Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, producing as The Neptunes, produced the track. It appeared on the Clipse debut album Lord Willin' and became one of the most recognizable rap production moments of that era. The brand name is a direct extension of that catalog identity.
What Is Grindin Coffee and Where Can You Buy It
Grindin Coffee launched in partnership with Lavazza, the Turin-based roaster founded in 1895 with wide distribution across grocery and specialty retail in the United States. Lavazza's existing supply chain and retail footprint likely give the brand immediate shelf presence that most celebrity beverage launches take years to build. Specific retail and online purchase locations had not been listed in the announcement at time of publication. Check GrindinCoffee.com or Lavazza's retail partners for availability as distribution details roll out.
The product line at launch covers medium and dark roasts in both ground and whole bean formats, which covers the most common home brewing setups. No pricing or subscription details were included in the release.
Who Is Behind Grindin Coffee
Pusha T, born Terrence Thornton, has built a second career as a brand operator alongside his music. He served as president of Kanye West's GOOD Music label for years and has maintained a public interest in fashion and business ventures. His most recent solo album, It's Almost Dry (2022, GOOD Music and Def Jam), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, according to previously reported chart data. He has not announced a follow-up project as of this writing.
Pharrell Williams currently serves as creative director of Louis Vuitton Men's, a role he took over from Virgil Abloh in 2023. He and Pusha T have worked together for more than two decades, with the Neptunes producing the bulk of Clipse's recorded output. Pharrell has his own history with product launches, including his Humanrace skincare line and various collaborations under the BBC and Ice Cream labels.
Lavazza's involvement positions this differently from many celebrity-branded food and beverage plays. Rather than a white-label product with a famous face, Lavazza brings sourcing, roasting infrastructure, and established retail relationships to the table. That partnership structure is worth noting for independent creatives thinking about how brand licensing can work at scale.
What Independent Artists Can Take From This Campaign
The clearest thing here is the through-line from catalog to commerce. Pusha T and Pharrell did not name the brand after themselves. They named it after a song, which means anyone searching that track title now encounters a product, a story, and a visual identity that extends the original work's meaning. For an independent artist, that model is accessible at a much smaller scale: a song title, a lyric, a phrase from your catalog can anchor a merchandise line, a newsletter, a pop-up, or a product collab before you ever need a major label or a luxury conglomerate involved.
