Quail, the blues-soul artist signed to TWNSHP/Epic Records, has released his new EP Macclenny as a full project on October 8, 2026. The EP is available now on all major streaming platforms via the link at quailp.lnk.to/MacclennyPreSave. Each of the studio tracks is paired with a live performance version, making the full release a double-sided listen that puts Quail's vocal range front and center.

Quail's real name is Seth Paige. He grew up in Macclenny, Florida, a working-class town in Baker County, and played college football before walking away from the sport to pursue music. His debut project, Baker Blues, introduced the storytelling style he carries into this new work, and the song "What You Got" from that project built his initial streaming base, according to the press release, racking up millions of plays across platforms. A live performance of "What You Got" is also available through NBC Atlanta's 11Alive atl&co broadcast.

What Is On the Macclenny EP and Who Produced It

The six-track EP opens with "Dead End," the focus track and its accompanying visual. The song was produced by Jonah Christian, whose credits include work with Tems, Cardi B, and Anderson .Paak. The track leans into blues, doo wop, and early pop structure.

"Happy Tears" was produced by Tricky Stewart and M.GeeZy. Stewart is a five-time GRAMMY Award winner with production history that includes records for Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, and Victoria Monet. M.GeeZy has worked with Kamillion and YK Osiris. The song frames emotional survival and personal growth.

"Wouldn't Try Again" was co-produced by Quail and Poncho, a producer known for work with Central Cee and 21 Savage. It sits in rock and traditional blues territory.

"Suffocating Slowly" was written by Quail and composed by Jake and Jared Krumm. The single was already circulating before the EP dropped and introduced many listeners to Quail's vocal approach.

"Vacation Love" was produced by B. Ham, who has credits with Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion, alongside Jake Fine.

The EP closes with "Make My Move" and "What You Got." "Make My Move" was written by Quail, Brody Brown, and Lucas Messore. Brown's writing credits include Bruno Mars' "I Just Might," the ROSÉ and Bruno Mars collaboration "APT," and Adele's "All I Ask." Messore has worked with Lexi Cline and Joey Purp. Production on "Make My Move" came from Messore and Tricky Stewart.

All tracks were penned by Quail. The cover art was created by Trenton Butler, who also shot the accompanying photos.

Where Quail Has Been and What Comes After Macclenny

Before this EP release, Quail completed a 10-date headline run called the In My Own Lane Tour. He also performed at Camp Duval, an event hosted by comedian and media personality Lil Duval, who commented publicly that Quail was, in his words, "10 times better live."

Prior to the full EP, Quail released several individual components in the months leading up to today: a live session of "Wouldn't Try Again," a live performance of "Happy Tears," and a visual for "Make My Move." That rollout strategy, releasing live versions ahead of the full project, is one worth noting for independent artists thinking about how to build anticipation without spending on traditional advertising. Each live clip served as proof of concept and created a separate wave of content.

Media coverage of Quail to this point has included VIBE, Okayplayer, and Rolling Out, according to the press release.

There is no announced tour following this release in the press materials. For local Los Angeles shows and events from independent artists working in blues, soul, and rock, check the [Something Dope For The People events calendar](/events).

The EP rollout itself is a practical case study for independent artists. Quail's team at IMG Way, Art-Related, and Epic Records distributed content in layers across months, built a live performance body of work alongside studio recordings, used regional television (11Alive) to anchor a hometown narrative, and leaned on producer co-signs from well-known names to establish credibility in the press.
