Same Same But Different Festival (SSBD) and Almost Nakey have announced the return of RENEW, their wellness and music event, set for November 15, 2026 at Fit Social Club in Mission Beach, San Diego.
The second edition of RENEW will be headlined by house music producer Tchami, with supporting performances from Nostalgix and LYRAH. The event is structured as a full-day experience: attendees move through wellness programming during the day before the venue shifts into an open-air concert at sunset.
Wellness activations on the schedule include fitness classes, yoga, breathwork, cold plunges, saunas, massage therapy, wellness vendors, and games. According to the release, hundreds of guests attended the inaugural event on August 2, 2026, which came close to selling out.
The debut featured performances from DJ Susan, ERO808, and Big Gigantic.
"RENEW started with a simple idea: wellness should feel less intimidating and a lot more fun," said Brad Sweet, CEO of Same Same But Different. "Seeing thousands of people move, recover, connect, and then dance together at our first event showed us there is a real appetite for experiences that bring wellness and music into the same space, and we're excited to build on that energy in November."
SSBD has operated as an independent festival since 2018 with no institutional backing, according to the release. The organization's flagship event is held at Lake Perris.
For independent artists and event producers, RENEW is worth watching as a format: pairing music performance with wellness programming is one way smaller organizers are building daytime event revenue and broader community attendance outside of traditional nighttime show structures.
