Truman Sinclair Releases New Single "Right On Time" via Capitol Records

Truman Sinclair released his new single, "Right On Time," on July 31, 2026 through Capitol Records. Sinclair co-wrote the self-produced track with Diego Fernandez and Sebastian Peters, both of whom also perform on it.

The release follows his previous single "4th of july," which came out earlier this year alongside a music video.

Sinclair's EP Rivers of Sugar and Blood came out in January 2026. The Line of Best Fit called him "a raw new voice amid the noise" and described his approach to American history and tradition as "neither nostalgic nor patriotic" and "literal and lived." Pigeons & Planes named him an artist to watch in 2026, pointing to his storytelling and his ability to "shed irony to voice the emotions most of us struggle to articulate."

In a recent session for goodnoise.live, Sinclair performed four songs from his catalog, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and harmonica. The session included "Dust to Dust" from Rivers of Sugar and Blood.

Sinclair grew up in Chicago, where he came up in the emo and metal scenes before relocating to Laurel Canyon at 14. He is self-taught and began writing and performing at age eight, according to the release. He played with alternative act Fat, Evil Children and later founded emo outfit Frat Mouse before releasing his solo debut, American Recording, in 2025.

For independent artists, Sinclair's path is worth noting: he built a foundation in local scenes, collaborated closely with a small circle of co-writers, and self-produced before landing a major label deal. The goodnoise.live session also points to the continued value of stripped-down, direct-to-audience performance formats as a way to build connection outside of traditional press cycles.
