Universal Music Latino Partners with YaBoyyWill on Reparto Platform

Universal Music Latino just made a serious investment in the Cuban reparto movement. The label has partnered with Cuban content creator and streamer YaBoyyWill to launch Toma Este Reparto, a new music platform and series designed to bring reparto artists into the mainstream spotlight. Billboard broke the news exclusively on August 31.

The platform takes its name from YaBoyyWill's signature "Toma" brand and a widely used Spanish idiom. It will give both independent and established reparto artists access to recording sessions at YaBoyyWill's personal studio, direct networking opportunities with Universal Music executives, and the full backing of the label's resources. What Is Reparto and Why Is It Breaking Now?

Reparto gets its name from the barrios and housing projects of Cuba. The genre took shape in the early 2000s, blending reggaeton, hip-hop, timba, rumba, and the signature Cuban clave rhythm into something entirely its own.
