How did you get started, and what's the short version of your story?
DJ O-Citywood, also known as Woodro Slimm, is the Lowpro OKC Mixtape Mack. Beat mechanic. Cannabis culture videographer. RPG gamer. A visionary with a country trap and soul sound and philosophy, providing nightlife production services for the creatives the industry slept on.
How would you describe your sound to someone who's never heard you?
gentleman club,kush nation GOGETTA afterhour party energy mixed with witty nightlife motivation.
What are you most proud of so far?
The lessons I have obtained on my music journey are many, but if I have to say what I am most proud of, I would say my growth in production, patience, and selflessness, to name a few that come to mind off the top.
What's been the hardest part of the road, and how did you push through?
It is a process. Finding and riding that fine balance between chasing your dreams and staying grounded has been a tough road, but I find that the real connections you build and maintain keep you level and in a space to push through those sudden obstacles that always seem to pop up out of nowhere.
How does your city or scene show up in your music?
It is the poetic backdrop to every diverse bar, delivery, and flow. Like the nightlife of OKC, it is simply complex and proud. Sooner State, through and through.
What's next for you?
TV and film production. Working behind the scenes on mobile promotions and collaborating with up-and-coming artists.
Any advice for artists coming up behind you?
Keep pushing, at your own pace, how it unfolds for you. Do not rush your process.
