UK drum and bass artist Andy C is in the US this weekend for three shows, wrapping up Sunday, August 2 at HARD Summer Music Festival in Inglewood, CA.
Before the festival stop, Andy C plays Washington, D.C. at Bertha on Friday, July 31 and Denver's Club Vinyl on Saturday, August 1.
At HARD Summer, he will present 'Andy C: ALiVe,' his audio-visual live performance concept. According to the release, this marks the first time the show has appeared at a HARD Events festival. The ALiVe format includes custom track selections, exclusive remixes, and synchronized stage production. The current version, ALiVe 3.0, debuted at Drumsheds in 2024 and introduced a hologram backdrop as part of the production.
Andy C founded Ram Records in 1992 alongside Ant Miles. The label helped develop artists including Chase and Status, Wilkinson, and Sub Focus. As part of the duo Origin Unknown with Miles, he produced 'Valley of the Shadows,' released in 1993, which became a widely recognized track in the genre.
His discography includes the collaborative single 'Indestructible' with Becky Hill, which the release says reached the Top 20 on the UK Official Dance Singles Chart and hit number 8 on Global's Official Big Top 40 chart. Recent releases include 'Who Like The What?' and 'Positions.' He has also done remix work for Major Lazer, The Prodigy, Rudimental, and London Grammar, among others.
The release also states Andy C hosts a drum and bass radio show on Apple Music's Beats 1, broadcast to over 100 countries.
For independent artists paying attention to longevity, Andy C's career is a useful reference point. Ram Records, which he co-founded over 30 years ago, is still the infrastructure behind some of the genre's biggest names, showing what owning your label and your sound can look like over the long run.
