Naisha, the LA and Mumbai-based vocalist, producer, and songwriter, has released her first solo single, "so then" featuring Ty Dolla $ign, marking the official launch of her own artistic chapter. The track is the lead single from her debut EP, 911, arriving this summer and executive produced by Naisha alongside Skrillex and Dilip Venkatesh.
For anyone who caught her on Skrillex's recent album SOMA, specifically the Hindi-language standout "Diwali," you already know the range. "So then" pushes further into Naisha's own world: a collision of global influences, unconventional melodic choices, and a vocal presence that does not sound like anyone else working right now. The Ty Dolla $ign feature came together organically, the way the best ones do. He heard it, connected, and wanted in.
What the 911 EP Means for Naisha's Breakout Moment
Naisha grew up in India absorbing everything from Aaliyah and D'Angelo to Bob Marley to classic Bollywood. She met Skrillex at a rave at 4 a.m. and was in the studio the next morning. That origin story tells you a lot about how she moves. Since then she has been building quietly through collaborations and DJ sets, launching her Naish To Meet Ya party series and appearing on festival stages across the globe.
911 is the first project that is entirely hers, start to finish. Sonically and visually. Naisha has described it as emotional, chaotic, playful, and honest, and based on the single, none of that is marketing language. The EP has the bones of something that does not fit neatly into any one genre lane, which is exactly where interesting music tends to live.
With Skrillex's credibility behind the production and Ty Dolla $ign on the debut single, the infrastructure around this project is serious. But what makes Naisha worth watching is simpler than the co-signs. She has a perspective, and 911 is the first time she has had a full canvas to show it.
Why Independent Creators Should Pay Attention
Naisha's path is a useful one to study. Years of collaboration and feature work, building craft and relationships in the background, then stepping forward with a project that is fully self-directed. The executive producer credit is hers. The visual storytelling is hers. That kind of ownership from the jump, especially on a debut, is not common.
If you are an independent artist figuring out how to move from features to your own front-facing project, her approach is worth understanding. [Check our submit page](/submit) if you are working on something and want to get it in front of us.
911 does not have a hard release date yet beyond summer 2026. Pre-saves are live now. Watch where this one goes when the full EP lands, because Naisha has the right combination of talent, timing, and infrastructure to make a significant first impression.
