Nickelback is heading back to Australia for the first time since 2019, booking seven arena and outdoor dates across the country from October 2 to October 16, 2027. The run wraps their full 2027 world tour and serves as live support for their 11th studio album, Everything Under the Sun, due October 30 via Virgin Music Group. England's Don Broco opens every night.

The band skipped Australia entirely on their 2022 Get Rollin' run, so this is the first time Australian fans have had a chance to see them since the Feed the Machine tour eight years prior. That gap, combined with a new record on the way, makes this a proper comeback visit rather than a routine stop.

What Is Nickelback's Everything Under the Sun About?

Everything Under the Sun is Nickelback's first album since parting ways with BMG, and their first project under Virgin Music Group. Three singles are already out: lead track "Rattle the Cage" features guitarist John 5 and is currently sitting at No. 1 at active rock radio in the U.S. "Leave Me Behind" and "Make Me Love You" have also been released ahead of the October 30 drop date.

The album arrives on the back of a full global campaign. The 2027 world tour opens February 6 in Pittsburgh, moves through a North American run, then a U.K. and European leg running May 22 through July 13 before the Australian dates close it out in October. That is a lot of road.

For context on where Nickelback sits culturally: "How You Remind Me" hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the Hot 100 year-end chart-topper for 2002. Their 2005 album All the Right Reasons went diamond in the U.S. and produced three Hot 100 top 10 singles in "Photograph," "Far Away," and "Rockstar." Billboard named them the top rock group of the 2000s. Love them or not, they have the receipts.

Where Are Nickelback Playing in Australia in 2027?

The tour opens at RAC Arena in Perth on October 2, then moves to Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena on October 5, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on October 7, and Mount Duneed Estate in Geelong on October 9. The back half of the run hits Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 12, Afterpay Arena in Sydney on October 14, and closes at Roche Estate in Pokolbin's Hunter Valley on October 16.

The mix of arenas and outdoor estate venues is a smart format for a band that can move real tickets. The estate shows in Geelong and the Hunter Valley give the tour some range beyond the standard capital city circuit.

General tickets go on sale Friday, October 16 at 10 a.m. local time in each city, with presales running earlier that week. Don Broco, who scored a No. 1 U.K. album in 2021 with Amazing Things, rounds out the bill as direct support on all dates.

What This Means for Artists Watching the Rock Space

Nickelback announcing a world tour with a new label deal and a No. 1 radio single is a reminder that rock still moves arenas when the artist has catalog depth to lean on. Virgin Music Group's involvement is also worth noting. The label has been active in signing established acts looking for more flexibility than a traditional major deal offers, and Nickelback making their first post-BMG album under that umbrella is a data point independent artists in any genre should file away.

The structure of this campaign, dropping singles over several months ahead of a full album, timing the record release to the final leg of the tour, and using radio to build momentum before the live dates hit, is a playbook that works at every level. The scale is different, but the sequencing is replicable.

If you are tracking the live music space or following how catalog artists are moving in 2027, this one is worth watching as Everything Under the Sun rollout continues into the fall.
